Kit Son Lee (sometimes Son Kit) is a designer, developer, and artist based in Brooklyn, NY. Through a form-agnostic practice spanning web experiences, interactive installations, graphic systems, and language (natural and programming), they appropriate the methods of contemporary computation towards the collective sabotage of their inequitable control structures. Kit is a co-founder of Codify Art, a multidisciplinary producorial collective dedicated to supporting work by queer and trans artists of color, and 2021–22 Visiting Fellow at the Ammerman Center for Arts and Technology. They have organized exhibitions, conducted workshops, and spoken at the Whitney Museum, Brooklyn Museum, The Public Theater, PRINTED MATTER LA Art Book Fair, and bitforms gallery, and have been a guest critic at Brown University, The Cooper Union, and Parsons School of Design. Their writing can be found in The Art Happens Here: Net Art Anthology (Rhizome, 2019), Interjection Calendar 005 (Montez Press, 2020), and Smoke + Mold, Issue 4 (2021). Kit holds an MFA in Graphic Design from the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) and BAs in Visual Art and Literary Arts from Brown University.
